Setting up a CCPM Head
Oki, ari na papano mag setup sang CCPM type of swashplate.
Have all your parts and electronics needed for setup. :p
1st - on the Swash type menu change it to 3 servos 120 degrees CCPM (for trex 450 its a 120 ccpm).
2nd - Set all , Trims, Subtrims to "0", and ang end points or travel adjust(in some radios) set to 100/100(default value), check throttle and pitch curve are in Linear curve (Default Value) ea. 0,25,50,75,100.
3rd - Check servo servo direction, use Reverse menu and Swash Mix menu(if necessary) to correct servo direction.
4th - Center the throttle stick(mid stick) and Attached horn to 3 cyclic servos and butang sa angle nga 90 degrees. (ALWAYS CENTER THROTTLE STICK WHEN DOING A SETUP IN A CCPM HEAD) tunga gid ha! Now use SUBTRIM if needed para ma 90 degree gid ang Servo horn
5th - Adjust linkage rod, swash plate shoud not bind on lowest stick if cyclic is given. adjust flybar perpendicular to the flybar cage. and mixing arms perpendicular to each other.
6th - Check pitch using a pitch guage. at Center throttle stick your pitch should be at "0" degrees(if not, adjust MECHANICALLY to make it 0, ndi sa radio kundi sa linkage kamo adjust para ma 0). then put your throttle stick to the maximum, check the pitch, it should be +11 degress and you lowest stick should be at -11 degrees (IF NOT GO TO SWASH MIX AND ADJUST THE "PITCH SETTINGS" INCREASE OR DECREASE THE VALUE FOR EXAMPLE 60%(some radios are different depending of radio models and brands)).
7th - After pitch are all set to +11 0 -11 on linear pitch curve, its time to adjust you normal flight, Idle up 1 and idle up 2 Pitch settings, to do that go to you pitch curve menu on Normal. Set you lowest point value around 35 so your lowest pitch should be at least negative -3 or -4 degrees. and your idle up 1 and 2 leave your pitch setting to linear.(This is an ideal pitch for me). why linear on pitch? para kung mag inverted kamo pareho ang control nyo from upright to inverted.
8th - On to the Throttle curve. Electric Helicopters has different Throttle curve compare to Nitro powered ones. electric powered posses more heat and stress to the ESC and motor if used on 60% or below to its maximum power, due to the weight of the head. in a 5 point Normal throttle curve set it to 0, 60, 75, 90, 100 or 0,65,80,93,100 depending on your flying style. and the standard settings to Idle up 1 you can set it to 100,92,85,92,100 and idle up 2 100,98,95,98,100 or you can put all the way 100, depende sa flying style nyo if you want more power then 100 all the way na!!
9th - Ok tapos nata sa throttle and pitch. Go to your swash mix. and set your AILERON an ELEVATOR value same sa pitch mo usually it will come out as 7-8 degrees ok angle sang imo swash. if you really want to know the angle you can check mechanically on a pitch guage pero budlayan nako mag explain diri kung papano hahaha. pwede ta kamo ma tudual actual if ever hehe .
10th - on to the last part ang Feel at default before doing a miaden on your chopper. set at least +15(Spektrum , JR) -15(in Futaba, baliskad na cla) of expo in Rudder , Aileron and Elevator. ang purpose sang expo is gina pa buot ya ang centering sang stick without compromising ang maximum throw sang servo. after hovering kung tama ka kilas or buot lower your expo or increase it if tama ka "buot"(Tame).
I personally dont use D/R or dual rate on all of my helis since there is a "SWASH MIX". if you want to "tame" your heli and adjust it on the Swash MIX and decrease the value on aileron and elevator or even in pitch, to make it more "agile" increase the value! simple lng.
Hope this is helpful to you! -Bryan
